강원도 재가 치매노인 부양가족의 돌봄 교육요구도에 영향을 미치는 요인

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing educational needs for caring (ENC) among family of elders with dementia (EWD).
Methods
The participants were 98 family members of EWD diagnosed by medical test at the Dementia Telemedicine Control Center of Gangwon Province, Korea. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan-test, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 14.0.
Results
The average score for ENC was 3.24 and the factor which had the highest score was 'management of family problems'. ENC had significant correlations with degree of symptoms in EWD's and with family care burden. Variables significantly influencing ENC were degree of symptoms in EWD's, and family care burden, income and education level. These variables accounted for 59.9% of the variance of ENC.
Conclusion
Findings of this study suggest that nurses should consider degree of symptoms of EWD and care burden of family members when planning educational programs and/or conducting research.
