노인의 성에 대한 간호사의 지식과 태도

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find the nurses' attitudes and knowledges about sexuality of the aged. The subjects were 442 nurses who were working 2 university hospitals in Seoul. The instrument used for this study was The Aging Sexual Knowledges and Attitudes Scale(ASKAS) and consisted of a questionnaire of 45items. The data were collected during period from November 13 to 30, 2000. The data were analyzed by frequency, mean?SD, t-test, F-test, Duncan-test, Pearson correlation coefficients. The results were as follows: 1. The mean of the knowledges scores was 17.15?5.10(possible range of score was 0 to 30) and nurses who had experienced geriatric nursing were more knowledgeable about sexuality of the elderly than counter part. 2. The mean of all attitude scores was 35.97?6.50(possible range of score was 15 to 75) and nurses who worked general wards were more permissive attitude about sexuality of the elderly than nurses who worked special wards. 3. A significant correlation was found between nurses attitude toward aged sexuality and knowledge of aged sexuality. In conclusion, as in the number of the elderly has increased in our society, and the critical need for nurses who are able to provide competent, professional geriatric nursing care, it is necessary for nurses develope a positive attitude and high level of knowledge about aged sexuality.
